Groceries (local or Super Valu in Port McNeill).

bullet Groceries can be bought locally at the General Stores.  They can be ordered from Super Valu (by 12:00 noon) and brought in the following day for a $10 fee.  The groceries are brought in by Mac Transport.

Furnace oil can be ordered from Coastal Mountain Fuels in Campbell River.

Garbage (roadside pick-up every Thursday).  During the fall, pickup happens every Monday and Thursday (to prevent bears from getting into the garbage).

Getting Out to Town

The road from Highway 19 to Zeballos is a BC Forest Service access road, usually well-maintained gravel, but travellers will want to have good tires and carry spares. Repair service is available in Zeballos.

          170 km paved - Highway 19
           42 km - active logging road
Prepare your vehicle (BCAA, safety equipment, chains for winter weather, good tires, 4x4 if possible).

Flying

 Air Nootka flies between the communities in our District (Gold River, Tahsis, Zeballos and Kyuquot). 
They are based in Gold River.
