MEETINGS
PAC meetings are an
opportunity for parents to find out what’s going on at RWES and bring
forward concerns or ideas concerning their children’s school experience.
PAC is involved in a variety of activities.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
PAC assists in the conduct of head lice checks in the
school. We are also concerned with earthquake, and disaster preparedness,
as well as issues of student conduct and bullying. We work with the school
and the RCMP to support events like DARE anti drug and alcohol program and
bicycle safety programs
FUNDRAISING
Throughout the school year PAC engages in a variety of fundraising
events for the benefit of our students; most notably, our monthly “Friday
hot lunch” days which are always a favourite of students. We also hold bake
sales, raffles, penny drives and other such events, encouraging student
participation. We are especially proud of The Spring Family Fun Carnival,
which was generously supported by the people of Gold River.
All proceeds from our fundraising efforts go to supporting student
activities such as: clubs, trips, recreation, and most recently the major
school playground
improvement project. |

SCHOOL
POLICY and PRACTICES
Working in co-operation with
staff and administration, PAC has been instrumental in helping to form
policy in areas such as student health and safety, and other areas of
concern to parents.
PAC is also working together with the
School
Planning Council and School District 84 to form yearly school
plans designed to focus on areas of importance to the education of our
children.
