Road Report

Road: Kyuquot West Coast Main Road System

Road/Driving Conditions: 

The road is currently bare and dry.  The road is in fair condition, overall, with no obstructions. Spring road work as begun - portions of the road have been graded and there has been some ditch clearing.

Please note the following:

- The road is a one lane road.

- There are several blind turns and limited sight distance areas.

- Brush overgrowth restricts visibility further, as well as limiting turnout availability in the event of oncoming traffic

- There are many potholes and exposed rock heads in the road.

Recommendations:

- Drive slowly and carefully.

- Look for turnouts as you drive so that you can respond to an oncoming vehicle who either does not see you or is driving too fast to avoid you.

- Anticipate obstructions around blind corners (e.g. other vehicles, fallen trees, land slides, bears).
